The Van Nuys High School Dance Department bases itself around a studio-style dance course that will cover
elements of modern, ballet, jazz, and choreography. Although the emphasis of the course will be performance-based, students will also be asked to participate in
occasional written activities and group projects.

- Dance Workshops for the teachers and administration of VNHS June 23, 24
- Dance Department Alumni are invited to perform in the Dance Showcase February 5, 2010
- School starts September 7, 2009
- After school Dance Team rehearsals begin when the late buses begin running

GRADING:
To better reflect the Performing Arts Magnet criteria, the grading procedures are stringent. Grades are broken
down into participation (20%), dress (30%), and assignments (50%). These will be totaled into an overall percentage,
where the breakdown is as follows:
100% - 95% = A
94.9% - 90% = B
89.9% - 85% = C
84.9% - 80% = D
